The Vernon County Sheriff's Department has charged Bradley Keith with 2nd-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm stemming from the case in Cedar County where Keith and two others allegedly burned the body of Shaniya S. Haynes, 27, formerly of Joplin. Keith is in Cedar County jail, facing charges of tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse. A Cedar County arrest report lists Keith as from El Dorado, but some reports have said he was homeless. Jimi C. After a two day weather delay, the Stockton Boys Basketball Tournament tipped off last week, utilizing the Stockton Middle School gym for the opening round while the girls tournament opened at the high school gym. more

According to owner Christy Fields, Wandering Wok, a new restaurant on Stockton's town square, will open tomorrow at 11 a.m. Plans for the Chinese restaurant were announced last year, and the owners have worked hard to make that dream a reality. more
