It has been years of planning, studying budgets, looking at response times, and preparing facilities, but on April 1 at 12:01 a.m. Cedar County will have its own ambulance district with local EMTs and medics. Cedar County Ambulance District (CCAD) will be taking over all EMS operations from Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH), Bolivar.

The swearing-in ceremony for the Cedar County officials will take place in the Associate Courtroom in the main level of the Cedar County Courthouse office on December 31. This is for elected officials who will assume their duties on January 1, 2025, and the ceremony will commence at 10 a.m.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn and Missouri State Veterinarian Dr. Steve Strubberg have approved livestock movement papers for nine reindeer. Mr. Santa Claus from The North Pole applied for the permit this week, providing proof of the healthy herd through a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection signed by licensed veterinarian Dr. Hermey Elf.

Last week, the Stockton Lady Tigers competed in the 7th Annual Morrisville Girls Tournament, their second tournament in as many weeks. With stiff competition, the Lady Tigers took one of three games, losing to Walnut Grove in the tournament opener, defeating Lamar in semifinal action, and dropping the consolation game to the host Marion C. Early (Morrisville) Lady Panthers.

As the #1 seed, the Tigers hoped to show their competition the season opener was no mirage, and the hometown favorites did not disappoint, extending their early season record to 4-0 with their closest margin of victory being 17 points over the four games
