POW/MIA, flag retirement ceremonies set for Nov. 11
Several organizations will come together to present two ceremonies in observance of Veterans Day at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Veterans Memorial Park near the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers main office.
An American Legion color guard team will post the colors before the opening ceremony, followed by a ceremony conducted by Lake Stockton Elks Lodge 2858 to honor and remember prisoners of war and those missing in action (POW/MIA).
A flag retirement ceremony will follow, conducted by members of the American Legion,
AMVETS Post 116 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Anyone with a flag in need of retirement is encouraged to bring it to the event.
The public is invited to attend.
