The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual car show and burn out contest on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Stockton City Park.
The show, which is free to attend, begins at 9 a.m. and will feature cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, rat rods and race cars. Live music, food trucks and vendors will also be at the event.
The burn out contest begins at 1 p.m. The contest’s winner will receive $1,000; second place will receive $500; and third place will receive $250.
The car show’s entree cost is $20. The burnout contest’s entry fee is $20, but that fee is deduced to $10 if you are also a car show exhibitor.
SACC Executive Bill Crabtree said he expects increased interest and participation in the burn out contest due to the generous prize monies that were donated by a donor who prefers to remain anonymous.
Additionally, SACC’s annual car show and burn out contest provides an avenue of celebration to the large community of car enthusiasts in the area.
“There’s a group of people that build their life, their downtime, their retirement time to cars — it’s their hobby, it’s what they enjoy doing,” Crabtree said.
Not only does the event appeal to car enthusiasts, but with live music, food trucks and other vendors on hand, the event offers a bit of something for everyone — especially families — to enjoy, he said.
