This week, Cedar County is coming out from a deep freeze. Temperatures began to bottom as the weekend approached. On Friday, temperatures started in the thirties. Then, they started dropping, and light snow and mist covered the roads, leading to slight travel problems. Temperatures quickly plunged, and the county saw windchills of -3 that night. The trend continued throughout the weekend, with wind chills hitting as low as -25. By Monday morning, a morning high of 7 degrees made residents feel like the weather was balmy. And today, the most hearty of fishermen might hit the lake again with temps expected to reach almost 40. Welcome to winter in Missouri.
