EUNICE D. KRISCHEL

Eunice Delila (Boyd) Krischel, 98, Bolivar, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Citizen's Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. She was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Cedar County, to Rufo and Iza Boyd.</<!—storybannercalldisable—>p>

A resident of Stockton most of her life, she moved to Bolivar in 2001 to be close to her daughter. She was a devoted Christian woman who loved her family.

She was a member of Stockton Christian Church and Bolivar Christian Church most of her life. She graduated from Southwest Missouri Teacher's College, and was an elementary school teacher for many years at numerous schools throughout Southwest Missouri. In the summers during World War II, she worked at Pratt and Whitney in Kansas City, helping build airplanes. In 1945, she went to work for the welfare office in Stockton as a case worker, and eventually retired in 1974 as the director. After retirement, she began bowling and golfing and won numerous trophies in her age category. She also was active in volunteer work at Stockton Nursing Home for 26 years, was a member of Rebecca's Lodge and the historical society.

Survivors include a son, Robert Krischel and his wife June of Great Falls, Mont.; a daughter, Ruth Torrey of Bolivar and husband Neal; four sisters, Helen Petrovich of Royal Oak, Mich., Blanche Coats of Houston, Neva Taylor of Visalia, Calif., and Ella Mae Rinaldi of Bolivar; five grandchildren, Sharon Bonnier of Fair Oaks, Calif., Aron Krischel of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kevin Torrey of Rutherfordton, S.C., David Krischel of Great Falls, Mont., and John Krischel of Edmond, Okla.; five great-grandchildren, Jason and Tyler Bonnier, Anthony Krischel, Andrew Krischel and Audra Krischel; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufo and Iza Boyd; two brothers, Finis Boyd and Ray Boyd; and a sister, Marie (Boyd) Campbell.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Stockton Christian Church, with graveside services following at Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton.
