The city of ElDo recently lost its long-time Chief of Police, Jarrod Schiereck, and two officers will be retiring soon, leaving some citizens concerned about how the department will be staffed. According to Bruce Rogers, city manager, one officer who is retiring will go to work for Cedar County after his retirement. Schiereck took a position out of the area. "Those two are not leaving because of salary," Rogers pointed out.
