While team titles were also at stake, the focus on every athlete competing in the Class 2 District 6 meet, Saturday, May 4, at Higginsville, was just advancing to sectionals.

All competitors who placed in the top four of their events earned a berth into the sectional meet Saturday, May 11, at Clinton.

Not only did the Stockton Tigers and Lady Tigers get a significant number through to the next round, they claimed gold in a total of eight events.

For the boys, Kyle Saulters won the 800-meter run, Bryson Coulter took the 1,600-meter run, Tyler Adams was first at 3,200 meters, Jason Bradshaw won the triple jump and Stockton relays won in the 4x400 and 4x800.

Luella Bradshaw won the girls’ 800-meter run and ran leadoff on the victorious 4x800 relay.
