In a joint effort between the Cedar County Republican and area veterans organizations, CCR staff would like to encourage the greater Stockton area to bring any retired American flags to the newspaper office between 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, 26 Public Square, Stockton, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Sunday, Amvets Post 116, four miles west of the Stockton square on Mo. 32, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5525 at 808 Mo. 32, Stockton or the American Legion Trent-Sallee Post 230 located at 209 North Street, Lower Level, Stockton.

Flags will be collected until Friday, June 14, at which time they will be given to the American Legion Trent-Sallee Post 230, Stockton, for proper disposal in accordance with traditional military guidelines.

The service is free to the public and retired flags can be in any condition.
