Last Thursday, the Lady Tigers golf team traveled to Willard to compete in the Class 1, District 1 Golf Tournament played at Greene Hills Golf Course in Willard and hosted by Ash Grove. As has been the theme all fall, it was an unseasonably hot day as the girls played 18 holes.
As the day came to a close, Greenwood and El Dorado Springs took the first two slots in team competition. Stockton as a team finished 6th. Individually, Tayelynn Meek, a senior, was the only Lady Tiger to make the cut, advancing to the Class 1 girls state golf tournament which will be played on October 19th and 20th at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville. Meek shot a 103 over 18 holes, finishing tied for 19th at the district meet. Prairie Wendt just missed the cut, shooting a 107 to finish 25th overall. Taylor Handzo shot a 119 to place 41st followed by senior Vivianna Lopez, who shot a 129 to finish 49th. Hannah Phoenix wrapped up the Lady Tigers’ scoring with a 134, finishing 52nd.
