Robert William “Bob” White sailed over the horizon on September 28, 2026, surrounded by love in Stockton, Missouri. Bob lived the life of a sailor, photographer, cowboy, inventor, and entrepreneur.

Bob was born on June 10, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Verne and Ruth (nee Michel) White. Verne worked for Frisco railroad and the family moved frequently around the southeast US, settling in Springfield, Missouri where Bob graduated from Parkview High School.

Bob served in the United States Air Force at Clark Airbase in the Philippines, receiving a commendation hazardous rescue duty after an earthquake rocked Manila in 1968. While in the Philippines Bob also raced Honda motorcycles in the Philippine Motorcycle Racing Association.

Back in the U.S., Bob raced enduro motorcycles. Bob was a Sea Scout and a certified SCUBA diver, diving in Ozarks lakes and rivers. Bob loved sailing his catamaran, camping, fishing, and occasionally bull-riding.

Bob founded White Orthodontics Lab and excelled in marketing, successfully patenting The Cat’s House, the first cardboard pet playhouse, and bringing it to market.

Bob’s photography earned him regional recognition, and he loved talking with fellow artist Clyde Crisman at Turner’s Station.

Bob moved to Stockton, Missouri where he devoted himself to sailing and photography. Bob supported the Wagoner Schoolhouse and offered his photography to support a variety of local causes.

Throughout his life Bob found joy in music, snorkeling, food, laughter, and many faithful canine companions.
