Linda Lou (Venable) Gonzales

Linda Lou (Venable) Gonzales, 77, of Liberty, passed away Friday, July 9, at NorthCare Hospice House with family at her side.  

Linda was born October 28, 1943, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the third of five children of Edwin and Grace (Leatherman) Venable.  She grew up in Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School.  Linda was a member of the Stockton Free Will Baptist Church in Stockton.  

Survivors include her husband, Ross Gonzales; children, Bradley Van Lue (Vicky), Belinda Dinsmore (Steve), Larry Gonzales (Mona), Celestino Gonzales (Virginia, deceased), Evaristo Gonzales (Dorothy); Ross Jr.'s wife, Jeanette Gonzales, Secondino, Orlando, Irene and Rebecca; grandchildren, Ray Kendall (Amber), Amanda Elliott (Colby), Jessica Shinneman (Nic), Caleb Van Lue and Nikki Foster (Austin); five great grandchildren, as well as all the Gonzales grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Linda also leaves siblings, Gene Venable (Dorothy), Gary Venable (Jan) and Brenda Cornine (Marven); as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Grace; a son, Ross Gonzales, Jr.; sister, Kay Van Dorn and her husband Richard; and nephews, Gary Venable, Jr. and Todd Cornine.

Visitation was held from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291 in Liberty. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.  

Memorial contributions are suggested to Stockton Free Will Baptist Church, P. O. Box 251, in Stockton.
