The Cedar County Sheriff's Department reminds citizens that the holidays are times for celebrations, but "... it's also a time when scams and thefts tend to increase," an email from the department read. Citizens are urged to secure their belongings, monitor online activity, and be cautious of unsolicited calls and messages.
