The Stockton and El Dorado Springs track and field teams challenged the best in the Ozarks at the prestigious Southwest Baptist University Bearcat Classic, Tuesday, April 23, in Bolivar.

Eldon was the girls’ team winner in the Class 1-3 division with 91.5 points. Stockton managed seven points and El Dorado Springs just one in the elite field. Lamar took the boys’ team title with 93 points. The Bulldogs scored an impressive 61 for fourth place, while the Tigers had 26.5.

Daelen Ackley of El Dorado Springs won the boys’ 3200-meter run and teammate Shelby McKinney claimed the gold in the javelin. Stockton notched a pair of thirds in the 4x800-meter relays.

“Overall, this was a very good day,” Bulldog coach Brian Goatley said. “We had many others perform well, but didn't quite medal despite numerous personal best performances.”
