ECS students in the flying contest, from left, include Aleta Lyness, McKenzie Cole, Avery Rodgers, Mali Rosbrugh, Jacob Tapp, Jake Stomp and Alayna Gingerich.

El Dorado Christian elementary students, preschool through sixth grade, were rewarded for their demerit-free third quarter Thursday, April 11. ECS principal Kelly Bryson took flying to a whole new level, rewarding students and teacher by taking the entire elementary student body to the gymnasium, to compete in the first-ever Demerit-Free Flyer’s Contest.

Picture it, 110 students, 110 airplanes, and one principal. That alone would scare some people, but not Bryson. She had her students laughing, counting, high-fiving and cheering their fellow classmates to victory.

El Dorado Christian implemented a Merit Rewards Program to identify and reward students who strive to promote positive influences in not only the classroom, but in everything they do at El Dorado Christian.
