Arnold Wayne Nelson, 70, formerly of Stockton, passed away March 9, 2019 at the Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg.
Arnold was born August 18, 1948 to his parents, Carrol Brixey Nelson and Lucy Fern Nelson of Lindsay, California who proceeded him death.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years Sandra Joanne Nelson, Warrensburg; brother Garry Nelson and wife Jan of Shafter, California, two sisters Wilma Bishop and husband Mike of Moreno Valley, California; Ruth Turner and husband Kevin of Mountainair, New Mexico; two children Michael Nelson and wife Lisa of Stockton and daughter Mary Lynn Olas (Nelson) and husband John of Warrensburg.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and the family dog Frisky, aka, “Frisco”.
Arnold was a devout Christian who spent his life serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Arnold always took great comfort in prayer and communion with our Lord. Arnold selflessly ensured that the wellbeing of his family and others was always taken care of before himself. Arnold enjoyed the simple things in life, including spending time with family, watching movies, and watching the Hallmark Channel.
Arnold moved his family from California to Missouri in the late 1970s to start a new life. Arnold worked for Hammons Products in Stockton in the feed mill for twenty years. After this he worked for Superior Gearbox, from which he retired. Arnold spent his spare time working cattle, gardening and doing things around the farm. Arnold spent the last several years with Parkinson’s and dementia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests all donations be written to Wyann Lipps, “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey” with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Missouri.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. and services at 2 p.m., Friday, March 15, Church of Christ, Stockton, burial in Lindley Prairie Cemetery will follow under the direction of Bland-Brumback Funeral Home. (11c)
