Victim airlifted from scene, felony charges filed

According to a statement from Cedar County Sheriff James McCrary, the Cedar County Sheriff's Office received a call on Monday, May 28, of an armed assault with injury which occurred in Jerico Springs.

CCSO deputies and emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched and responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, first-responders observed a female bleeding and in need of critical medical attention.

The female victim, who currently remains unnamed as a safety measure, was airlifted from the scene by helicopter and rushed to a neighboring hospital for treatment of severe injuries and internal bleeding.

After confirming several facts and details surrounding the incident, a probable cause statement was submitted to Cedar County prosecuting attorney Ty Gaither’s office for formal charges.

Alicia M. Greathouse, Jerico Springs, was arrested over the past weekend and has been charged with first degree assault with serious bodily injury. The charge is a class A felony which carries a $200,000 bond.

Greathouse is currently being housed in the Cedar County jail.

As with any criminal case, it should be remembered a charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
