A drizzling, cold Saturday morning greeted visitors to Stockton Lake and the Ray H. Zumwalt Expo center for a day of viewing eagles.

On the lake, visitors viewed eagles from a distance and some even diving for lunch. About 107 individuals took the lake tour, while 87 visited the expo center to watch Dickerson Park Zoo docents share information on eagles.

Phoenix, an American bald eagle, and Aqulla, a golden eagle, were part of the program, and kept adults and children well entertained.

The event was made possible by the combined efforts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Mutton Creek, Stockton State Park and Orleans Trail marinas offered pontoon rides to observation areas.
