A glitch in the emergency alarm system which sounds in Stockton at noon and 6 p.m. has caused the siren to sound at other times when it should not, and extended the length of time the alarm siren sounds.

According to John Wilson Sr., Stockton’s code enforcement officer, there was a computer problem with the internal communication system, a timing error which has been found in the system.

The problems occurred last week, and after replacing parts and repair work, the problem eventually was corrected.
