The Cedar County ambulance district board met Tuesday, May 28, for its rescheduled monthly meeting. The previously scheduled meeting was cancelled due to severely inclement weather.
A motion was made by Diana Johnson to approve the agenda as presented and it was approved unchanged.
•Induction of Board Members and Director:
Nadine Sinclair was sworn in by clerk Tami Ringler.
A nomination was made by Sinclair to retain Rusty Norval as chairman. No opposition was presented and Norval was elected by acclamation.
A nomination was made by Johnson to retain Nadine Sinclair as vice-chairman. No opposition was presented and Sinclair was elected by acclamation.
A nomination was made by Sinclair to retain Keith Kasco as secretary/treasurer. No opposition was presented and Kasco was elected by acclamation.
•Minutes of Previous Meeting:
Motion to approve minutes of the board’s April meeting as presented was approved.
No applicants were present.
The monthly financial reporting was tabled until June. CCAD Accountant Kalena Bruce was not notified of the rescheduled meeting and was not present to present the monthly report.
Tom Ryan reported all ambulance units are currently operational.
Parties enrolled in the current dispatching class should be finished with the course next month. Ryan said there are currently three parties interested in a first responder class.
El Dorado Spring’s ambulance facility had a roof leak and it was caulked from the inside. Ryan reported the repair appeared to have solved the issue.
Motion was made by Sinclair to accept the manager’s report as presented. No opposition was presented and the manager’s report was accepted unchanged.
CCAD staff has received the new power washer and peripherals. The unit is working and performing all necessary tasks.
No new business was discussed.
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. and the board will next meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 17, at the CCAD offices located at 319 Englewood.
The CCAD board is seeking director applicants at the current time. Interested parties are encouraged to attend a monthly meeting in person with a current resume for review.
CCAD meetings are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.
