The Shady Hill Club met Wednesday, May 8, at the Humansville Senior Center.

We enjoyed a tasty lunch of fried chicken donated by local realtor John Rummel plus scalloped potatoes with green beans and a delicious desert of strawberry shortcake.

After lunch and visitation, Nora Garver called our meeting to order. The devotion was given by Charlotte Bays on All Things Beautiful, a beautiful poem.

Our roll call was answered by, “Why are flowers important to you? Is your favorite inside or outside? Bring a flower start or seeds to share if you like.” Roll call was answered by Bays, Judy Chasteen, Garver, Laura Hake, Winnie Lira, Carolyn Mershon, Beverly Myers, Judy Nichols, Shirley Potts and Peggy Reed. Our visitors were Charles Bays, Claude Chasteen, Ken Potts and Don Reed.

Next month our roll call will be: If you had the time and money, where in the U.S. or world would you like to go on vacation?

The minutes of last month’s meeting were read and approved. There was no unfinished business or new business. The treasurer's report was given and approved. We closed with a prayer from Mershon and a special prayer for Archie was given for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

We will meet next month at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Carolyn Mershon's home. Next month's devotion will be given by Mershon.
