The summer band concerts of the El Dorado Springs Municipal Band are quickly coming to an end for the year. We’ll play from 8-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, August 24-25. 

Friday evening, the different sections of the band will select the songs we play. I will come into the audience and ask audience members if they have a favorite we can play for them.

Friday program: Flute choice, clarinet choice, sax choice, tenor sax choice, audience choice, trumpet choice, trombone choice, baritone choice, horn choice, tuba choice, percussion choice, director choice and “God Bless America.”

Saturday program: “Black Horse Troop,” “Sky Pilot,” “Americana,” “American Patrol,” “Big Cage,” “Golden Dragon,” “Carnival of Roses,” “Forrest Gump,” “Hymn to the Fallen,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Spoonful of Sugar” and “God Bless America.”

We will play from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26. Program: “The Band Played On,” “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” “Bugler’s Holiday,” “Holy City,” “Man of the Hour,” “Billy Sunday’s Successful Songs,” “Salute to Victor Herbert,” “Amazing Grace,” “Over There,” “Ave Maria,” “Our Director,” “Now is the Hour,” “God Bless America” and “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Our final concert for the summer will be Friday, Aug. 31. We hope to see you. It’s always more fun to play for a crowd.
