Mrs. Bryant, 90, El Dorado Springs, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Community Springs Healthcare Facility, El Dorado Springs. She was born to Jesse and Ruth (Felty) Jones in Cedar County, where she attended school and graduated in 1942. She attended one year of teacher training in Springfield, and taught in a rural school one year.

She was saved at Bro. Luther Tucker’s home when just a young girl. She was a member of Hazel Dell Missionary Baptist Church at the time of her death, and faithfully attended services there as long as her health permitted.

She married Russell Bryant Jr. July 27, 1945. They corresponded by letter after their marriage until October 1945, when he was discharged from the U.S. Navy and they began their journey together.

They lived in Cedar County until 1960 when they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for his health. They had 49 years together before Junior passed away in 1994, and she moved back to El Dorado Springs in 1995, where she was near her family and the church.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas E. Bryant of Stockton, Gregory W. Bryant and wife Cathy of Clovis, New Mexico, and Steven D. Bryant and wife Lisa of Milo; grandchildren, Clifford Bryant of El Dorado Springs, Russell A. and Carin Bryant of Barrow, Arkansas, Shawn and Brenna Bryant of Williston, North Dakota, Thomas Matthew Bryant of San Antonio, Texas, Miranda and Ronald Greene of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Starla Martin of Las Cruces, New Mexico; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Kylie Bryant, Jeremiah, Cyrus, Isaiah and Graceen Bryant and Christopher, Genevieve and Hannah Martin; a sister, Geneva Miller of Grove, Oklahoma; a brother, Jerald Jones and wife Janet of El Dorado Springs; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Peach and Betty Jo Bryant, both of Stockton; and many step-grand and step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior; parents, Jess and Ruth Jones; a brother, Cecil E. Jones; a sister in-law, Carol Jones; and a brother in-law, Lloyd Miller.

Bro. Ralph Benham will officiate services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association or Autism Speaks and left at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.blandhackleman.com.
