Robert Lance Beamer, 56, Buffalo, the son of Bob Beamer and Anne (West) Johnson, was born Jan. 16, 1959, in Mexico, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar.

He graduated from Mexico High School where he participated in the barbershop quartet and band. He went on and attended Central Missouri State University where he met his wife, Joy.

Lance began his career as a bicycle paperboy. In his adult life, he went on to manage restaurants in Mexico, Missouri, Warrensburg, Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield, and owned a restaurant in Buffalo, Gene’s Welcome Home Restaurant. After 20 years in restaurants, he switched careers and went into the radio business where he was the general manager of 107.7 FM, The Lake radio, Stockton.

He was a motorcyle enthusiast and avid role-playing video gamer. His real job was a loving father and devoted husband. His greatest pleasure in life was having grandchildren.

Lance is survived by his wife, Joy of the home; a son, Toby Beamer and fiance April Eley of Buffalo; a daughter, Jazmyne Beamer and partner Jacob Custer of Buffalo; his father, Bob Beamer and wife Shirley of Renick; his mother, Anne Johnson of Mexico, Missouri; two brothers, Dan and wife Carol Beamer of Corvallis, Oregon and Tyler Beamer of Renick; four sisters, Robyn Huibregtse of Janesville, Wisconsin, Penny and husband Michael Daughtery of Mexico, Missouri, Pam and husband John Little of Decatur, Illinois, and Amanda Beamer of Moberly; three grandchildren, Alexis Beamer, Madelyn Eley and Austin Eley; 20 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members who will all truly miss him.

Visitation was from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home, Buffalo. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Escorts are Jacob Custer, Gabriel Martin, Brandon Wilson, Ed Koca, Owen Kjar and Melvin Routt. Honorary escorts are Dale Lane, Wayne Holt and Art Morris. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens of Memory under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home.
