Maudie B. Richardson

Maudie Beatrice "Bea" (Cardwell) Richardson, 90, Stockton, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. She was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Wagoner to Thomas Edward and Mary Belle (Fellows) Cardwell.

She grew up in the Wagoner/Jerico Springs area and graduated from Wagoner School. She married Willis Adley Burchett Jan. 1, 1940, and three children were born to this union, Kenneth Eugene, Sharron Kay and G. Sharleen. She also shared in the lives of five stepchildren, Neta Viola, Neva June, Francis Joe, Dennis Lee and Willis Junior.

Following a divorce, she married Richard Hayden Richardson Feb. 2, 1952. The couple operated the Old Ice Plant Service Station west

of Stockton.

In 1958, she was saved in a revival held by Bros. Clyde Bough and Web Foster at the old Amity Schoolhouse. She was baptized and joined Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death.

While residing in the Amity community, she served as a 4-H leader and became instrumental in organizing the Amity reunion.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Burchett and wife Jayme of Branson; two daughters, Sharron O'Connor and Sharleen Hobson and husband Dick, all of Stockton; her grandchildren, Gena Burchett of Branson, Gavin O'Connor and wife Dawn of Willard, Reja Spaeny and husband Mark of Springfield, Les Coleman and wife Kim of Nixa, Eric Coleman and wife Rowan of Marshfield and Darren Coleman and Cortney Simpson and husband Brian, all of Stockton; her great-grandchildren, Tiffany Sarmiento and husband Fernando, Renea Coleman, Michaela Coleman, Trevor Coleman, Seth Coleman, Alyssa Simpson, Cole Simpson, Ella B. O'Connor, Rory O'Connor, Cody Spaeny, Caisha Spaeny, Caydon Spaeny, Cailee Spaeny, Caprice Spaeny and Carson Spaeny; and four stepchildren, Neta Van Howten of El Dorado Springs, Joe Burchett and wife Carole of Fontana, Kan., Dennis Burchett and wife Joann of Eudora, Kan., and Junior Burchett and wife Sharon of Lamar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Belle Cardwell; her husband, Rich Richardson; a stepdaughter, Neva Kelly; and two great-grandchildren, Whitney Hope and George Aaron.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Brumback Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Hayward officiating. Burial was in Anna Edna Cemetery, Jerico Springs, under the direction of Brumback Funeral Home.

Musical selections of "In the Garden" and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" were provided by Kate Skinner. Pallbearers were Gavin O'Connor; Les, Darren and Eric Coleman; Dale Roberts and Jerry Snider. Honorary pallbearers were Cortney Simpson, Reja Spaeny and Gena Burchett.
