Larry Gene Lean, 63, Collins, passed away Jan. 27, 2016, at his home in Collins. He was born July 26, 1952, in Humansville, the son of Clifford and Kathleen (Wallen) Lean. Larry married the “The Love of his Life” Ronda D. Hulett Aug. 18, 1979. Larry was the proud father of four children.
Larry spent many of his younger years driving a semi truck and later worked as a carpenter. Larry loved life. His lifelong passion was hunting and fishing with his family and close friends. Larry also enjoyed coaching all his “boys” in baseball. He loved his grandchildren so very much. He loved driving his stock car, No. 42, and would travel over many states just to watch a good race. Larry was known to keep a pristine yard with beautiful flowers. Later, Larry loved traveling with Ronda, searching out new places to collect rocks and crystals. You would never know where they might end up. He also developed a love for cooking and always was creating his special foods for his wife and any who would join them. Larry was saved as a young boy and was baptized at Humansville Baptist Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and step-father Willis J. Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ronda; three daughters, Traci Hammers and husband Dusty of Nevada, Tammy Slaton and husband Justin of Grove, Oklahoma, and Larrina Barnes and husband Rod of Humansville; a son, Clifford Lean and wife Yohana of Moberly; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bobby Lean and Dorothy Lean and their children.
