Mr. Clayton, 78, Stockton, died Thursday, Dec. 14, at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility. He was born to Joe F. and Lorene Clayton.
He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Besides being a life-long musician, he sold construction equipment and worked at O’Sullivan’s in Lamar. He was a member of Arcola Christian Church.
Survivors include his children Kathleen Hutchens of Springfield, Allison Kay Grubbs and husband Mike of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mike Clayton and wife Keri of Bolivar; grandchildren, Robert Ott, Jamme Ott White, Joseph Derek Clayton, Nathan Grubbs and Taylor Ann Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Neta Carol Griffin.
