ANTHONY ‘TONY’ KAYE WEST

Celebration service: 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, Stockton Christian Church. Anthony (Tony) Kaye West, 65, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. Tony was born in Needmore, Mo., near Stockton, March 1, 1948 to John and Ruby West of Stockton.

Tony is survived by his son, Jarrod Nathan West, his daughter-in-law, Diana, grandson Lucas, stepgrandchildren Katie and Joseph of Odessa, Mo., his daughter, Toni Ann Walker, his son-in-law, Jared, grandchildren Jadon, Zach and Abby of St. Joseph, Mo. He is also survived by his brother Johnny (wife Sandy) West of Stockton.

Tony was preceded in death by his beloved parents John and Ruby West and his sister Molly Jo.

Tony grew up in Stockton where he graduated from high school. He and his family were faithful members of the Stockton Christian Church and he was baptized in the Sac River at an early age. He graduated college from Southwest Missouri State University and attended one year at Missouri University.

His career began in sales for Anchor vet medicine. Upon his service of 18 years, he attained the position of national sales manager. He then opened and operated a successful business in St. Joseph. Keeping with his adventurous spirit, he then began working as an insurance adjuster. Most recently he began to enjoy taking pictures of old barns and other historic items in hopes of preserving the heritage he loved.

He loved and was proud of his upbringing in Cedar County, his parents, his children, his grandchildren, his friends and his business ventures. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A brief celebration service with family and friends will be held at the Stockton Christian Church. Services will be during the annual Black Walnut Festival following the parade at 4 p.m.
