Stockton Middle School closed out its season Saturday, Feb. 17, with games in a tournament in Clever.
Clever Middle School and Clever High School gyms were used for the tournament which featured eight schools and seventh- and eighth-grade teams from each middle school.
The tournament opened Saturday, Feb. 10. Stockton's seventh-graders lost to Clever 36-28, and the eighth-graders fell to Skyline 52-11.
The tournament resumed Saturday, Feb. 17.
The Tiger eighth-graders lost to Pleasant Hope, while the seventh-graders beat Ash Grove, 34-31, and Marionville, 32-27, to capture the consolation bracket title when the tournament resumed.
"The seventh-graders really developed as a team over the season. Every player on the team made great strides," coach Shad Edwards said.
While the eighth-grade team did not win many games, Edwards said, "The eighth grade did a good job playing as a team this year. Each individual improved their skills and became a better basketball player."
