Stockton's Lady Tigers competed evenly with Lamar at the District 12 basketball tournament in Mt. Vernon Monday, Feb. 19, before falling 58-45.

Stockton was within 8 points with 3 minutes left in the contest.

"Our girls competed and fought hard. We really wanted this game, and you could tell. It was closer than the final score showed," coach Kevin Besch said.

Freshman Jenna Rickman had an outstanding game with 20 points and three steals. Sarrah Hottes contributed 8 points and seven rebounds. Also scoring for Stockton were Katie Hedrick with 6 points, Amie Garver with 5,

Cassidy Duncan tossed in 4 and Shanae Potts had 2.
