The deadline for candidates to file for county and state offices in the Aug. 7 primary is fast approaching, according to Cedar County clerk Peggy Kenney.

Candidates who wish to file in Cedar County for associate circuit judge, circuit clerk, collector, county clerk, presiding commissioner, recorder, treasurer or committeeperson may do so in the county clerk’s office of the Cedar County Courthouse in Stockton. The deadline to file is 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 27. For further information, contact Kenney at 276-6700, extension 221.

Candidates wishing to run for U.S. Senator, state auditor, Fourth District Congressional Representative, 28th circuit judge, 28th District state senator or state representative in House districts 125, 127 and 128, must file in the Missouri secretary of state’s office at the Kirkpatrick State Information Center, 600 W. Main St., Jefferson City. The deadline to file is the same as for the county offices.
