The Stockton Busy Bee Club had its monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Our liaison Sharron reported on the presentation given at the Sac Osage Electric board meeting. She educated the board on alternative methods to eradicate woody plants without destroying forage for pollinators. We also were given maps of areas to be sprayed this year, so members could mark apiaries their contractor would not spray. The previous year our map had been misplaced by Sac Osage Electric. The board will meet in private session and get back to the club with information.

Bees already are collecting pollen from maple trees and sassafras. All members are looking forward to a successful year.

The club is open to anyone interested in pollinators. We meet at the Cedar County Health Complex at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday each month.
